Benedict Cumberbatch is to play Dominic Cummings, the leading strategist and campaign director of Vote Leave, in a new Channel 4 drama about Brexit.

Brexit (working title), which will be a one-off two hour film, is being written by James Graham.

According to Channel 4, it will unpack “the anatomy of the historic, high-stakes campaign to win the hearts and minds of the British people.”

The drama will be directed by Toby Haynes who had previously worked with Cumberbatch on Sherlock.

Filming is due to take place later this year.
