Sir Ian McKellen has signed a deal to write his autobiography.

According to the Sunday Times, McKellen has signed a deal wth publishers Hachete after submitting a proposal for the book.

The memoirs are expected to look back over his glittering a career working with everyone from Judi Dench to Patrick Stewart to Peter Jackson as well as detailing his decision to reveal his sexuality in 1988 and since becoming a keen campaigner for gay rights.

I would imagine this is going to be absolutely fascinating reading! No word yet on a release date (I think he’s got to write it first).
