Former Doctor Who star David Tennant is hosting a new app that aims to bridge the gap between Shakeapeare and hip hop.
The project, called RE:Shakespeare is a collaboration between the Royal Shakeapeare Company and Samsung and aims to infuse Shakespeare’s work with a hip-hop vibe and technological enhancement.
The app includes a hip-hop quiz, a breakdown on the extravagant insults in the Shakespeare lexicon, a 360-degree performance of Much Ado About Nothing, and more.
The app is available in the Google Play store.
David Tennant will be back starring in the RSC’s production of Richard II later this year (and I have tickets…).
This is such a hilarious but interesting mix of genres! Love it!

Well let’s see it’s David Tenant and have you seen David Tenant do Shakespeare? It’s sublime! I know that’s not precisely what this is but if it’s remotely close. I’ll bite!
