At LFF today (day six)

Ireland comes to the London Film Festival today, well sort of, in the shape of Brooklyn.

The film tells the story of Ellis, a young Irish girl who moves to the US for a better life, only to return home when her past disrupts her new life.

Star Saoirse Ronan will be joined at the gala screening by co-stars Emory Cohen, Jenn Murray, Eve Macklin, Brid Brennan and Eve Birthistle.

Author Colm Toibin, whose book the film is based on, will also attend alongside director John Crowley and Nick Hornby, who has adapted the book for the screen.

Also at LFF today, Orlando Weeks from The Maccabees will be at Elephant Days, a documentary about the band’s work on their fourth album.

Ralph Ineson, Anya Taylor Joy, Harvey Scrimshaw, Ellie Grainger and Lucas Dawson walk the red carpet at the First Feature Competition screening of their British horror movie, The Witch.
