One of the most eagerly awaited films at this year’s BFI London Film Festival finally has its UK premiere tonight.

Carol stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara with both actresses attending the screening.

They’ll be joined on the red carpet by director Todd Haynes as well as various producers (including Blanchett’s husband Andre Upton, who is the film’s executive producer).

Carol is based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel, The Price of Salt, which I read earlier this year and I’m very much looking forward to seeing the film.

Also at LFF today will be documentarian Louis Theroux for his new film, My Scientology Movie. I saw this yesterday and have my issues with it.

Another documentart showing today is Steve McQueen; The Man & Le Mans which is about the actor’s love affair with motor racing. Matthew Vaughn and Damon Hill are among the expected guests.
