Oscar-winning film Sideways will have its UK stage premiere in May.

The play will open at the St James Theatre from May 29 to July 9.

There’s no word yet on casting.

If you don’t know it, the story follows two men in their 40s who take a week-long road trip into the heart of California wine country.

The Alexander Payne directed film is one of my favourites so I’m intrigued to see how this transfers to the stage. And I would advise the theatre against selling any merlot…
