Miranda Hart will publish a new book later this year, all about her beloved dog Peggy.

Peggy And Me is described as a “hilarious and at times moving” account of Hart’s life with her canine best friend – documenting her initial suspicion of dog owners (“alarmed by their light coating of dog hair”) and her change of heart after “love quickly blossomed” between Hart and her “wonder dog” nine years ago.

Hart said: “I am so thrilled to be given the chance to write a second book, and I look forward to introducing Peggy to the world and telling you about the many comic adventures we have found ourselves on as well as sharing the life lessons I have learnt from her.

“Reflective, life affirming stuff – I’m not talking about how to wash my bum with my tongue or take a pie packet out of a bin and lick it.”

Peggy and Me will be published on October 6th.
