Julia Donaldson’s new book, Spinderella, will be published later this year.

The book was originally issued in 2002, but Donaldson has reworked the text and it will now be released as a picture book.

The story  is about Cinderella, football and counting.

Donaldson said she wanted to write something about animals learning maths: “Counting spider’s legs seemed to offer a good way into that idea…and once I came up with a Hairy Godmother, there was no stopping me.”
