Film company StudioCanal have bought the rights to Paddington Bear – and announced not only are we getting a sequel to the highly successful film, we’re getting a sequel to the sequel!

Paddington 2 will begin filming in October and is due in cinemas in 2017. No word yet on when we’ll see Paddington 3.

StudioCanal also plan to bring the bear back to the small screen with  a new animated series – now this would have worried me before the first film’s release because I think the BBC series is wonderful.

But, Paddington was so wonderful that I trust StudioCanal with the character. I loved the first film that I made it my film of the year in 2015.

Now we wait for confirmation that the cast will return for he new films: Jim Broadbent, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Peter Capaldi and Ben Whishaw as Paddington himself.
