Dan Stevens is a long way from Downton Abbey in the trailer for his new TV series, Legion.

Stevens plays David, a powerful superpowered mutant who assumes his powers are a mental illness – except, of course, they’re not.

Legion is inspired by X-Men comics but apparently does not take place in the same continuity as the X-Men movies.

Legion also stars Rachel Keller, Jean Smart and Aubrey Plaza.

The show is due to premiere on FX in early 2017.
