Tim Minchin’s stage musical based on Groundhog Day will open on Broadway in April.
The production has already had a successful run in London, where I was lucky enough to see it. It’s fantastic!
Groundhog Day will open at Broadway’s August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street) on April 17.
Director Matthew Warchus, composer and lyricist Tim Minchin, choreographer Peter Darling and set and costume designer Rob Howell, four of the creators of the international sensation Matilda The Musical, have joined forces with writer Danny Rubin to collaborate on this new stage musical of the hit 1993 film based on Rubin’s story.
Broadway casting will be announced at a later date.
Tickets will go on pre-sale through Ticketmaster starting October 12 with general on-sale starting on October 26.
Honestly, if you can get tickets then go!
