Ever since it took London by storm earlier this year, rumours have been rife that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will open on Broadway sooner rather than later.
Well it looks like that sooner has moved closer with reports that the show’s producers have found a theatre on the Great White Way.
According to the New York Post, producers are in advanced discussions with the owners of New York’s Lyric Theatre to open the show in spring 2018.
The Lyric is currently home to Cirque du Soleil’s Paramour but that is due to move out in April 2017 to clear the way for renovations to the theatre. Those renovations will scale the venue down from a 1,900 seat auditorium to 1,500 seats, reconfiguring the space in a way specifically tailored to Cursed Child.
There’s no official confirmation yet, but it looks like Boy (or Man) Who Lived is set to cross the pond very soon.
