- Dominic West, Olivia Colman, David Oyelowo and Lily Collins lead the cast of a new BBC adaptation of Les Miserables.
The mini-series will star West as Jean Valjean as he struggles to escape his past while being hunted for years over a parole violation by Inspector Javert (Oyelowo), set against the backdrop of the uprising of 1832. Collins will star as Fantine.
The cast also includes Adeel Akhtar and Olivia Colman as Monsieur and Madame Thénardier, Ellie Bamber as Cosette, Josh O’Connor as Marius, and Erin Kellyman as Éponine.
The six-part adaptation of Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables is being written by Andrew Davies, who famously wrote the Beeb’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
Filming is due to begin next month.
