Author Rex Pickett is turning his novel Sideways into a musical.

The book was adapted into the Oscar-nominated film starring Paul Giamatti, Thomas Haden Church and Sandra Oh in 2004. (And it’s one of my favourite films.)

According to Pickett, the musical will include scenes that were not in the film.

Said producer Solomon J LeFlore: “Sideways is an incredible film that has never really been quarried for its franchise potential. We plan to rectify that. With movie-to-Broadway musical adaptations so popular, this seems a natural first step.”
