Director Dexter Fletcher has been given the job of bringing Simon Templar, aka The Saint, back to the big screen.
The film will be based on the 1920s novel series written by Leslie Charteris, which follow Simon Templar (aka The Saint), a Robin Hood-esque criminal and thief for hire.
So far, the books have been turned into a TV series in the 1960s and an attempt to launch a film franchise in the 1990s which didn’t work.
Film studio Paramount is said to be hoping this time they can kick start a franchise.
Fletcher directed Rocketman with Taron Egerton, and also took over filmmaking duties on Bohemian Rhapsody after director Bryan Singer was fired during production.
