Downton Abbey sequel ‘to film next year’

Great news for fans of Downton Abbey – the sequel to the film will reportedly be filmed next year.

According to Baz Bamigboye, filming will take place from March until May 2021.

And, in even more good news, Maggie Smith will be back once again to play the Dowager Countess.

All of the regular cast are expected back, including Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Matthew Goode, Laura Carmichael, Allen Leech, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Brendan Coyle and Joanne Froggatt.

Imelda Staunton and Tuppence Middleton, who joined the cast in the first film, are also expected to return.
