Game of Thrones fans can get their first look at the new prequel series House of the Dragon after HBO released the first teaser trailer.

The series is set a few hundred years prior to the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen and the Targaryen civil war that became known as the Dance of the Dragons.

It stars Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen.

Steve Toussaint plays Lord Corlys Velaryon, known as the Sea Snake, who becomes Hand to Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen during the Dance of the Dragons

House of the Dragon will debut in 2022.
