A modern TV series remake of The Wombles is in the works.

How to Train Your Dragon’s Will Davies is writing a new TV series about the Wombles of Wimbledon Common, according to Deadline.

The original TV series turned 50 years old this year. It was based on Elisabeth Beresford’s children’s novels, and featured the voice of Bernard Cribbins. The show was first remade in the 1990s for ITV.

No more details about the latest remake have been revealed. But The Wombles are sure to entertain a new generation of kids, particularly with their messages around recycling.
