James McAvoy is set to make his directorial debut with a film about the true story of two Scottish lads from Dundee who conned the international music industry by pretending to be California rap duo, Silibil N’ Brains.

According to Deadline, the film will follow the pair as they re-recorded their own songs with fake US accents and headed to London to sign a record deal.

The project is expected to start filming in Scotland next year.

The title and release date have not yet been confirmed.
