Luther Ford, best known for playing Prince Harry in the final season of The Crown, has joined the cast of a BBC drama about 11th century figures Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy.

The BBC drama, titled King & Conquerer, will star James Norton as Harold, Earl of Wessex, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as William, Duke of Normandy.

The cast also includes Emily Beecham as Edith Swan Neck, the wife of Harold, and Clémence Poésy as Matilda, the wife of William.

Eddie Marsan has joined the cast as King Edward alongside Juliet Stevenson as Lady Emma.

Luther Ford is taking on the role of Tostig, with Joseph Mawle as Fitzosbern.

Filming on the series is already underway in Iceland, said the BBC.
