A stage adaptation of Damien Chazelle’s La La Land is in workshops as it edges closer making its debut.
Theatre director Bartlett Sher, who is overseeing the adaptation, told WhatsOnStage that the musical is “in the middle of workshops”.
Sher is working with producer Marc Platt on the stage version.
“We’re in the middle of workshops and trying to find a theatrical language for this amazing film. So we’re in the middle of that right now,” said Sher.
No word on when it’ll progress from workshops to an actual production, nor whether it will have its premiere in London or New York.
Wow I didn’t know it was going to be turned into a play. I absolutely loved Damien Chazelle’s masterpiece. Both Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone wee extraordinary. It will be interesting to witness such a great film being turned into a play. Here’s why I loved the film:
