Tom Bombadil will be among the characters in the second season of Prime Video’s The Rings of Power.

The much-loved character is being played by Rory Kinnear.

It will be the first time Bombadil will appear on screen after both Ralph Baskhi and Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings films cut the character.

“He can be a force for good, but he is challenging to integrate dramatically in that he doesn’t have an agenda. He’s not driving forward and pushing people to arrive at any particular end,” showrunner J D Payne told Vanity Fair.

The Rings of Power returns to Prime Video on August 29th.
