The BFI London Film Festival 2024 will play host to the world premiere of the 4K restoration of Watership Down.

The film will then be released in UK cinemas on 25th October 2024, before a home entertainment release, which will present the film in Limited Edition Ultra High Definition (UHD).

The 1978 film is seen as a landmark in British animation, and follows the story of Fiver, a rabbit who has distressing visions of destruction lying ahead and persuades a small group to join him on what is to be a challenging journey to safety in the halcyon location of Watership Down.

The voice cast includes John Hurt, Richard Briers, Ralph Richardson, Denholm Elliott, Roy Kinnear and Hannah Gordon.
