The BBC has released the trailer for its upcoming historical epic, which will debut on BBC iPlayer and BBC One this year.

The eight-part series follows Harold, Earl of Wessex (James Norton) and William, Duke of Normandy (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) as they battle for the throne alongside their respective wives, Edith Swan-neck (Emily Beecham) and Matilda (Clémence Poésy).

Other cast members include Eddie Marsan and Juliet Stevenson.
