A new film about Wham’s trip to China in 1985 will be released in cinemas worldwide this July.
WHAM! 10 Days In China follows George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley’s landmark visit to China, spotlighting their historic performances in Beijing and Guangzhou.
Drawing on newly digitised and never-before-seen archive footage, alongside interviews with those who experienced the tour firsthand, the film revisits the tour through the eyes of the band, their team and Chinese audiences encountering Western pop culture for the first time.
Speaking about the film, Ridgeley said: “This film finally reveals the unknown legacy of WHAM!’s groundbreaking venture, and lays bare, in all their human contradictions, the individual perspectives behind what was a bold and risky, high stakes gamble.”
The film will be released in cinemas on 28th July. Tickets go on sale from 24th June at 2pm BST at https://www.wham10daysinchina.com/
WHAM! 10 Days in China will also be broadcaster on BBC Two and available on BBC iPlayer later this summer.
