Following its world premiere in Stratford this summer, the stage play based on George RR Martin’s Game of Thrones will open in London in 2027.

Game of Thrones: The Mad King spans the final years before the events of the novels.

“I had an absolutely splendid time in Stratford upon Avon for the premiere and am thrilled the production will be moving to London to share the experience with a wider audience. It promises to be an exhilarating journey,” said Martin.

Details of when the play will open, cast and theatre have yet to be announced.
