Aidan Turner promotes Poldark

The Hobbit star Aidan Turner will attend a special preview of his new BBC drama series Poldark next month.

Turner will join co-star Eleanor Tomlinson at the screening at the BFI Southbank on February 23.

Tickets go on sale to the public at 11.30am on January 20.

The series is set in Britain in 1783 as Ross Poldark (Turner) returns from the American War of Independence to his beloved Cornwall to find his world in ruins: his father dead, the family mine long since closed, his house wrecked and his sweetheart pledged to marry his cousin.

Premiere updates

Alicia Vikander will attend a special screening of her new film Testament of Youth at the BFI Southbank on Monday January 12.

Colin Firth will be joined by Take That at the premiere of his new film Kingsman: The Secret Service on Wednesday January 14.

Johnny Depp will walk the red carpet in London on January 19 for the UK premiere of his new film, Mortdecai. He’ll be joined at the premiere by co-star Paul Bettany and the film’s director David Koepp. The premiere takes place at the Empire Leicester Square.

Stars at the BFI

Jeremy Irvine and Phoebe Fox will attend a screening of the new film The Woman in Black: Angel of Death at the BFI.

The screening takes place on December 11.

The new film is set 40 years after the events of The Woman in Black, with Eel Marsh House acting as a school for children during the Second World War.

Meanwhile Steve Pemberton and Miranda Richardson will be at the BFI on December 10 for the screening of their drama, Mapp and Lucia.

The BBC drama, which is due to be shown over Christmas, also features Anna Chancellor and Mark Gatiss.

The Hobbit world premiere – live stream

Are you as excited/sad as I am about the world premiere of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies? I’m excited because that means I’ll get to see it soon but I’m also incredibly sad as I don’t want to say goodbye.

Anyway the big world premiere takes place in London on Monday evening and if you can’t make it there’s a live stream! Hurrah.

Peter Jackson will walk the green carpet alongside his cast including Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lily, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Orlando Bloom, Ian McKellen, Lee Pace, Andy Serkis, Stephen Fry, Sylvester McCoy, Mikael Persbrandt, Ryan Gage, John Bell, Aidan Turner, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt, Adam Brown, Jed Brophy and Billy Boyd.

Paddington premiere

Nicole Kidman, Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Michael Gambon, Julie Walters and Keyvan Novak will walk the red carpet at the world premiere of Paddington on November 23.

They’ll also be joined on the red carpet by the little bear’s creator Michael Bond.

The premiere takes place at the Odeon Leicester Square.

Meanwhile Jim Broadbent, Rafe Spall, Jodie Whittaker, Warwick Davis and Dasher the Reindeer will attend the London premiere of Get Santa on November 30.
