Sherlock starts filming soon!

Mark Gatiss has revealed the Sherlock Christmas special will begin filming on January 6.

He says he doesn’t know when we’ll get to see it though as “that’s up to the BBC”. In an interview with India Today, Gatiss said the special will be a completely new story “it’s almost entirely original – not really based on any of the stories” he said.

Once the special has been filmed the cast and crew will then turn their attention to three more episodes.

In the interview the show’s co-creator was asked if viewers will get to see John and Mary’s baby but, as usual, he wouldn’t answer the question: “We know that Mary is expecting a baby at the end of season three” he said. “We will see the child – maybe at some point in the future, depending on where we pick up from”.

All I can say is the sooner they start filming the sooner we can see it!

Have you been watching this year’s Strictly Come Dancing?

I have to say I think Caroline was the right winner, she just got better and better.

Well details of the Live Tour have now been confirmed.

Frankie Bridge, Thom Evans, Alison Hammond, Caroline Flack, Mark Wright and Simon Webbe will join their professional partners on the tour.

Craig Revel Horwood will be joined on the judging panel by 2008 winner Tom Chambers and his Strictly partner Camilla Dallerup.

The tour begins on January 16 in Birmingham and wraps up at the O2 in London on February 8.

Carrie Fisher will star in the new Channel 4 comedy from Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney.

She’ll play the eccentric mother of Delaney’s character.

The series follows a couple who struggle to fall in love in London and will also feature Ashley Jensen as Horgan’s ‘awful friend’.

Horgan and Delaney will attend a preview of the first two episodes at BAFTA on January 12.

Even more Broadchurch

This week it’s been announced the second series of Broadchurch will begin on ITV on January 5.

I was absolutely hooked by the first series, I thought it was a brilliant drama, even if we did all guess whodunnit!

Well now there’s more good news for fans as a series of digital short stories tied into each episode of the new series are being released.

Each e-book will be released at midnight following the Monday night episode and will include characters featured in that night’s episode, delving deeper into their lives.

I think this is a brilliant idea!

Clooney heads to Hollywood

IMG_0292.JPG

George Clooney is working on a new TV series set at a Hollywood film studio during the 1990s.

Apparently it’s a dark comedy looking at the movie business through the eyes of the studio bosses running the studio.

At the moment Clooney is in talks with various TV networks but I would expect them to jump at the chance to work with the Oscar winner.

Clooney will be producing the show but we don’t know at this stage if he’ll appear in the series.

Game of Thrones fans, Westeros needs you!

Fans are being invited to submit artwork, songs, photographs, recipes and stories to be part of a new official compendium of the show.

All submissions must pertain to events that took place during series one to four of the TV series (so you can’t include anything from A Dance with Dragons).

Fans whose work is chosen will receive a copy of the book with their name listed as a contributor.

To find out more visit gameofthronescompendium.com. The book should be released in 2015.

Steve McQueen’s drama series lands Brit stars

Helena Bonham Carter and Rebecca Hall are to star in a new HBO drama from Steve McQueen.

Codes of Conduct is about New York’s high society.

If the pilot becomes a series (and with that calibre of talent involved it definitely should) it would be Bonham Carter’s first series regular role.

She’s expected to play a society maven whilst Hall will star as the eldest child of a New York billionaire.
