I am so excited at the news that one of my favourite actresses is working with my favourite screenwriter on a film about Lucille Ball.

Cate Blanchett and Aaron Sorkin are collaborating on a biopic of the comedy star with Blanchett starring and Sorkin writing.

The film will be produced by Ball’s two children, Lucie Arnaz and Desi Arnaz Jr., and will follow her life over the course of her 20-year marriage with I Love Lucy costar Desi Arnaz.

I remember watching I Love Lucy as a kid and just loving the fun and strength of Lucy. I don’t think you could chose a better actress than Blanchett to bring her to the screen. Plus, Sorkin is a brilliant writer and y know he script will be chock-full of clever one-liners that would do Lucy proud.

There’s no director on board yet so it might be a while before we see it on screen, but I really can’t wait!
