Channel 4 will broadcast a special programme revealing Britain’s Favourite Children’s Book later this year.

The show will be hosted by David Walliams and feature the top 50 books written for kids in a list specially compiled by the Sunday Times children’s books Editor, Nicolette Jones.

It will also feature interviews with some of Walliams’s favourite children’s authors and illustrators including Jacqueline Wilson, Julia Donaldson, Michael Bond, Judith Kerr, Michael Morpurgo and Quentin Blake.

The programme will also include extracts from some of the chosen books read by the likes of Julie Walters and Martin Freeman as well as bespoke illustrations by Quentin Blake.

David Walliams added ‘Children’s books are my passion, and I am thrilled we will be finding out the nation’s favourite ones.’

Expect the show to be broadcast around Christmas.
