Milking the Harry Potter cow dry

Is it just me who’s starting to get fed-up with the constant attempts to keep making money out of Harry Potter?

First it was the Fantastic Beasts films, then the Cursed Child play, then the announcement you could get the book of the play (which immediately shot to the top of the bestseller charts).

Now, there’s another Harry Potter initiative – this time a film concert series which will tour the US later this year.

It just seems to me that Warner Bros are trying to make as much money out of the franchise as possible.

And I get it, I really do – the love for Harry continues. But at some point aren’t fans going to have to say enough is enough? Because who can afford to pay for all these new Potter experiences?

What do you think, is it time to let Harry fly off into the sunset?

  1. Butbutbut… I love this idea!
I think I speak for a lot of fans that we’re really fine with anything as long as it doesn’t hurt the legacy and mess with the story. Some stuff is too far. But this is actually quite nice.

  2. So true, and before we know it they’ll want to remake the original “eight” movies, but it will still be too fresh because even though it ended five years ago, no one is willing to let it die.
