Best news ever: Paddington 2 is going to happen.

Paul King, who made the first film, is back to write and direct a sequel. He’ll work with Simon Farnaby on the script for the new film which StudioCanal and producer David Heyman hope will be the start of a new franchise.

Paddington made $260 million at the global box-office and it was a huge hit with critics (you can read my review here). I even made it my number one film of 2014.

No word yet on whether the original cast will be back. But if they are, please can we have more screen time for Paddington’s nosy neighbour Mr Curry aka Peter Capaldi?
