Glee’s Amber Riley will lead the cast of a new production of Dreamgirls when it opens in London later this year.

Riley will star as Effie in the musical which is being staged at the Savoy Theatre in December – exact run dates are still tba.

Effie is the role Jennifer Hudson played in the film version – and she won an Oscar for performance.

I think Amber Riley could really shine in the role – she can certainly sing and having won Dancing With The Stars she can also dance if needed.
