Tye Sheridan has been cast as the lead in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of Ready Player One.

Sheridan will star as Wade in the film which is due for release in March 2018.

It’s based on Ernest Cline’s book about a teenage gamer on a high-stakes treasure hunt through a virtual world called Oasis, which is filled with references to 1970s and ’80s pop culture.

Olivia Cooke and Ben Mendelsohn have already been set to star.

I thoroughly enjoyed Cline’s book and I can’t think of a better choice to bring it to the screen than Spielberg so I’m really hopeful for this one.
