Tom Hanks returns as Robert Langdon in the first trailer for Inferno, based on the book by Dan Brown.

This time round he’s joined Oscar-nominee Felicity Jones as Sienna Brooks, a doctor Langdon joins forces with when he wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia.

Together they race across Europe following a trail of clues tied to Dante himself as they attempt to foil a deadly global plot.

The cast also includes Omar Sy, Ben Foster, Sidse Babett Knudsen and Irrfan Khan.

Ron Howard directs his third Dan Brown adaptation which is due for release in the UK on October 14.
