James Norton, Lesley Manville, Jason Watkins, Simon Callow, Brendan Gleeson and Diane Keaton will begin shooting new film Hampstead in the next few weeks.

Directed by Joel Hopkins, the film is about Hampstead Village in London. Living on the edge of the Heath is American widow Emily Walters (Keaton), who can’t quite focus on the things that need attention, like her lovely old flat, her finances and even her son. Despite encouragement from her close friend Fiona, she doesn’t want to admit that she’s drifting through life without much thought to her future.

One day she spies a local man being attacked by a group of thugs. Emily discovers the man is being targeted by local property developers and so she decides to take a stand and help – even if it puts her at odds with her friends.

Filming begins on May 22, no word yet on a release date.
