For anyone sick and tired of politics (British, American or whatever) Game of Thrones is offering its own alternative.

It’s asking fans to vote for a leader of the GOT Party.

They’ve even released a campaign ad to explain to fans what it’s all about.

After watching the video you’re then directed to a website where you can cast your vote for the four candidates: Daenerys, Jon Snow, Cersei or Littlefinger.

Each candidate has a running mate. Daenerys is running with Tyrion Lannister; Jon Snow with Lyanna Mormont, Cersei’s running mate is Qyburn and Littlefinger has chosen Sansa Stark (natch).

Fans have all of August to vote and the winner will be revealed on September 1.

It’s a clever way to get people interested in the political process – it’s also a very clever way to promote the DVD release.
