Hugh Laurie’s new TV series Chance will be shown in the UK on Universal Channel.
The psychological thriller will air late spring/early summer with season two due to premiere later in 2017.
Based on Kem Nunn’s novel, Chance focuses on a San Francisco-based forensic neuro-psychiatrist Eldon Chance – played by Laurie – who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness.
After an ill-advised decision regarding an alluring patient, played by Gretchen Mol – who may or may not be struggling with a multiple personality disorder, Chance finds himself in the crosshairs of her abusive spouse, who also happens to be a ruthless police detective.
The show counts Laurie. Brian Grazer and Room director Lenny Abrahamson among its producers. Abrahamson has also directed several episodes.
