Cate Blanchett is to star in a new production of All About Eve on the London stage.

The play will open in London in spring 2018 – theatre, dates and further casting is still to be announced.

The production will be directed by Ivo van Howe and will star Blanchett as Margo Channing, the role played by Bette Davis in the 1950 film.

It follows Channing,  prominent yet aging Broadway star, and Eve Harringon,  a young fan who insinuates herself into Channing’s life.

I can not wait – I have always wanted to see Blanchett on stage.
