Freaky Friday set for TV reboot

Disney is working on a new version of crossover comedy Freaky Friday – this time for TV.

The new version is thought to be based on a musical adaptation of Mary Rodgers’ novel which debuted last year.

The novel has already been adapted for film three times: in 1976, starring Barbara Harris and Jodi Foster, as a 1995 TV movie with Shelley Long and Gaby Hoffman, and again in 2003 with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan.

According to a casting notice, Disney is adapting the stage production for television, with the creative team made of people who worked on the stage version.

Filming is expected to begin this Autumn.

Do we need another version of Freaky Friday? Tell me what you think!
