McKellen’s King Lear set for London transfer

The Chichester production of King Lear starring Sir Ian McKellen looks like it will transfer to London this summer.

According to the Daily Mail’s Baz Bamigboye, the production will have a limited sixteen week run at the Dule of York Theatre from July 12th.

It says deals are still being finalised, but McKellen is expected to star and Sinead Cusack is expected to join him.

I was lucky enough to see this at Chichester and I’m not exaggerating when I say it was one of the best things I’ve ever seen on stage. McKellen is absolutely superb as Lear and the rest of the cast were phenomenal too.

If you can get tickets I would say it’s a must-see!
