The BBC has released the first image from its forthcoming star-studded adaptation of King Lear.
The film will be shown on BBC Two this spring and release by Amazon worldwide.
Directed by Richard Eye, it stars Anthony Hopkins in the title role.
The cast also includes Emma Thompson as Lear’s oldest daughter Goneril. Emily Watson plays his middle daughter Regan, and Florence Pugh is Cordelia, the youngest of Lear’s children.
The cast also includes Jim Broadbent as the Earl of Gloucester, Andrew Scott as Edgar, Jim Carter as the Earl of Kent, Christopher Eccleston as Oswald and Tobias Menzies as the Duke of Cornwall.
