Having opened on Broadway at the weekend, speculation the Mean Girls musical will cross the pond and open in London is now rife.
And the show’s producer Sonia Freedman has said it could happen.
The musical has been adapted by the film’s writer Tina Fey with music by her husband Jeff Richmond.
When asked if it was the plan to transfer the show to the West End, Sonia Friedman told WhatsOnStage.com: “Yeah, we’d love to… certainly, if I’m involved, it’s going to happen, isn’t it?”
“It’s by the same director as Dreamgirls, Casey Nicholaw, and of course I also produced Funny Girl, so with Mean Girls, Dreamgirls and Funny Girl, we get really confused.”
So I guess we just need to watch this space…
