Maggie Smith is returning to the stage for the first time in 12 years.
She’s starring in new play A German Life, written by Christopher Hampton.
The one-woman show will run at London’s Bridge Theatre for five weeks.
It tells the story of the life of Brunhilde Pomsel who worked as a secretary during the 1930s and had many employers including Jewish insurance brokers, German broadcasters and Joseph Goebbels. Hampton has based the play on Pomsel’s testimonial given shortly before she died.
Tickets for the play go on sale to the public on 26th February.
A German Life runs from 6 April 2019 until 11 May.
