According to a report, there is a possibility that George RR Martin’s A Song of Fire and Ice could be adapted for the stage.
Baz Bamigboye reports that the National Theatre in London is looking at adapting the book but that it’s in the “very early days” of consideration.
A spokesperson for the National has said “We currently have absolutely no plans for a Game of Thrones production.”
Interestingly, the National has form with taking epic stories and turning them into stage dramas. It previously produced a stage adaptation of His Dark Materials and is said to be looking at Philip Pullman’s Book of Dust sequels.
So, could a Game of Thrones stage adaptation happen? Would you go?
I guess we’ll have to wait for an official raven from the Citadel to tell us whether Winter is Coming (to the stage).
