Victoria’s Tom Hughes has joined the cast of A Discovery of Witches for the show’s second season.

He’ll be playing Christopher “Kit” Marlowe, the real-life playwright (and rival to Shakespeare) who wrote Doctor Faustus and many other works.

The second season of the Sky One show will see star-crossed witch/vampire couple Diana and Matthew (Teresa Palmer and Matthew Goode) thrown back in time to the Elizabethan period, where they seek out a powerful witch teacher to help control Diana’s abilities.

The second season of A Discovery of Witches is due on screen in early 2020.
