Love Actually writer/directed Richard Curtis is getting all festive again and turning his own series of children’s books into an animated feature film.

The Empty Stocking will be based on Curtis’s books, The Empty Stocking, Snow Day and the forthcoming That Christmas — each telling a family story taking place in the run-up to Christmas.

The film’s producers are said to be talking to streaming platforms about a release.

“It’s been such a pleasure writing these books — with Rebecca Cobb’s wonderful drawings — that I’m thrilled about the idea of turning them into a film,” said Curtis.
