James McAvoy is taking Cyrano de Bergerac to New York

James McAvoy is to make his US stage debut in the New York transfer of Cyrano de Bergerac.

The production, which is nominated for five Olivier Awards, will play at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Harvey Theater from May 8th-31st. Tickets go on sale March 10 for BAM members and March 20 to the general public via BAM.org.

McAvoy will be joined in New York by fellow London cast members Anita-Joy Uwajeh as Roxanne and Eben Figueiredo as Christian.

“This production is a visceral, bold and wholly exciting take on a classic,” BAM artistic director David Binder said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to welcome Jamie Lloyd and James McAvoy to BAM this spring and look forward to sharing this one-of-a-kind experience with our audiences.”
