Ever wanted to be able to draw Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang? Well now you can!
A series of short instructional videos entitled How to Draw Peanuts Characters are now available on the Snoopy YouTube channel.
The first instalment, How to Draw Snoopy, offers an easy-to-follow demonstration on creating an excellent likeness of the world’s most beloved beagle in under 3 minutes.
Budding artists are invited to share their drawings with Peanuts using the hashtag “snoopysketch” and tagging @snoopy on Facebook and Twitter and @snoopygrams on Instagram.
“I grew up loving the Peanuts characters and as an adult have had the privilege of drawing them for Peanuts product designs. It will always be a thrill to see a personality emerge from a simple line on a page,” says Paige Braddock, chief creative officer, Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates. “So I am very happy that these video tutorials will give people the chance to see the Peanuts gang come to life through their own hands.”
Future how-to-draw videos, coming twice a week on the Snoopy YouTube channel through May and June, will include Linus, Lucy, Sally, Schroeder, Peppermint Patty, Marcie, Franklin, Pig-Pen, a dancing Snoopy with Woodstock, and Lucy pulling the football away from Charlie Brown.
For straightforward printed instructions, fans can visit the website of the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, California, where downloadable one-page PDFs are available on the Schulz Museum at Home page, offering step-by-step guidance on creating Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and Woodstock.
