Lesley Manville is joining The Crown, taking over the role of Princess Margaret from Helena Bonham Carter.
She will join Imelda Staunton in the fifth and final season of the Netflix series.
In a quote published on The Crown’s Twitter account, Manville said she is taking over from “two formidable actresses and I really don’t want to let the side down.” She added that Staunton is a “dear friend.”
Filming on season five is due to begin next year. Season four is expected to debut on Netflix later this year.
